Student Groups

Students form an important part of Ivy Manchester and are involved in all sorts of groups from charity work to Youth Work to the Worship Team. As well as having a number of student events we meet as part of a Cluster and in Grow Groups.

The best way to keep up to date with student events is through our group on Facebook:

CLUSTER

The cluster is a medium sized group (30-50 people) that attempts to bridge the gap between small groups and large Sunday gatherings.

The cluster aims to enable real meaningful community where each person feels a sense of belonging and value as a member of the body of Christ. The cluster also provides opportunities to do evangelism, develop in spiritual gifts and do many things together as a group that is difficult to do effectively as either a small or very large group. Out of the cluster gatherings students are placed into a suitable small group.

Current students are part of the Borders Cluster, though you are free to go to any cluster you feel comfortable in.

Grow groups

The grow groups are small groups that are part of the cluster that meet on weeks that cluster is not meeting. There will be around 6-10 discipleship groups in a cluster. These groups form the basis for strong discipleship through such means as prayer, worship, bible study and accountability. These groups are based on a flexible model that seeks to enable dynamic community, growing disciples and student mission.

Clusters and Grow Groups often are the starting point for great friendships, and you will often find us enjoying a drink after meetings.

So overall, we gather once a week for either a cluster size gathering or a small group (grow group) size gathering.
