Church Life

New to MANCHESTER???

Manchester is the best student town in the world (though we may be slightly biased). 80,000 students and about the same number of bars, clubs, restaurants and take aways will ensure you have a fantastic time here, not forgetting the famous curry mile, two average football teams and the mighty Stockport County, Sale Sharks Rugby and amazing venues such as the Apollo and MEN Arena.

What is the priority at uni? New friends? New experiences? Partying? Dare I say it...studying?

These are important, but what is essential to making the most of your time in Manchester is to find a place where you feel you will be able to connect with God's plan for your life and from there to grow in your faith and serve effectively, i.e. find a church!

Could it be that Ivy Manchester is the church and community you're looking to be a part of at uni? Part of the reason you ended up in the city? Have a look at some of the web pages that outline some of the stuff Ivy does and is about. From September we usually have a delicious free lunch for students each week after the 11.30am service to help students get to know people in the church and a bit more of what we're about. Our Sunday meetings are located in Didsbury just a couple of miles from the campus and very easy to get to.

There's loads to get involved in! If you're new or feeling your way toward the Christian faith then why not go on an Alpha Course that is specifically designed for students? Contact info@studentalpha.org for the latest details of courses running.

There are small groups (we call them Grow Groups) for friendship and discipleship. Many students and young adults also meet together for midsize cluster groups, too. We also run an event based in Starbucks Fallowfield called The Living Space that highlights social issues and what we can do about them. In short Ivy Manchester is a vibrant student community!

I've been in the city a good while, so if I can help - please get in touch with me directly.
